提及西方的文化，总离不开性文化和人体艺术，更多人认为他们是人类表达情感的载体，对原始生存，生殖本能的一种推动。当裸体在人们眼中不再是色情，只是一种美的体现的时候，人们就从野蛮过度到了文明。
英文中有一个词sexual liberation, 中文的意思是性解放，这是20世纪60年代，西方社会对两性价值的产生的自然的力量，从而也出现了和性有关的科学研究和艺术创作，佛洛依德的泛性论学说， 罗素的婚姻变革学说，雅克的“多元情爱，多头结合，多边忠贞”，美国人的要做爱，不要作战的口号。
那么就让我们一起走进“文化青楼”在揭开性神秘的面纱的同时，探索性的文化性和社会性。
Sex and body art are at the core of Western culture. Human expressions like anger and emotion, empathy and even loving, are ingrained into the psyche of all humans, regardless of their ethnicity or culture. But in fact, these emotions go much deeper – they are linked to our most primitive instincts – reproduction and ultimately survival.
When nakedness is no longer seen as pornography, when it is seen more as beauty, or art, then people and their culture have passed beyond barbarism, to an advanced civilization. There is a phrase in English, sexual liberation. In Chinese means sexual liberation. For centuries, Western artists have been painting and making sculptures of naked humans – both male and female. Although this was already an accepted norm for Western society, in the 1960s a new form of sexual revolution happened in the West. We saw the emergence of sex-related scientific research, and with the invention of birth control – “The Pill” – ladies were suddenly liberated as never before, to explore their own sexual desires and fantasies. Yed's theory of universalism and Russell's theory of marriage change were overtaken by slogans like Jacques's "multiple love, long-term integration, multilateral loyalty", and eventually to the American slogan “make love, not war”. And they did! American music festivals of the sixties, like Woodstock, were synonymous with “free love”.
Having experienced life in the West, we have a new lens through which to view today’s "cultural plaza" where – in many cultures - we have freedom to explore our sexuality as never before.
